When IT slows down the business
Many small businesses live with IT that works — until it suddenly does not. Email stops syncing, an employee cannot log in to Microsoft 365, backup has not run for weeks, or the network crashes when more people work from home. Every hour without working systems costs money, customer trust and peace of mind.
Without clear routines, IT questions land on whoever happens to be most technical — often the CEO or finance manager. That leads to ad hoc fixes, uncertainty around security and backup, and difficulty planning upgrades. When the business grows, it quickly becomes obvious if networking, licences and permissions have not kept up.
Large IT providers are not always a fit for small businesses: long contracts, generic solutions and support queues. At the same time, you do not want to be without help when the server, printer or cloud service fails on a Monday morning.
