Before you drop off your PC — checklist

Good preparation saves time and reduces the risk that something important is missing while the PC is with us. You do not need to be technical — but passwords, backup and a clear fault description matter. This checklist applies to drop-off at our Lerum workshop, and the same points help for home visits in Partille and Gothenburg.
Data and passwords
Back up important files if the PC will start. If it will not: tell us so we prioritise disk/clone before experiments.
Have Windows password, BitLocker key (if enabled) and any BIOS password available — otherwise we cannot get in.
Sign out of sensitive accounts you do not want left open, but do not lock us out of the Windows account needed for testing.
What to bring
Laptop charger is almost always required. Desktop: PSU usually stays, but bring external disks if the fault involves them.
Write briefly: when it started, what happens exactly, error codes, and what you already tried. A BSOD photo helps.
Remove privacy-sensitive USB sticks you do not want to leave. Note serial numbers if you have an insurance claim.

You can often try remote support first if it looks software-related — otherwise drop-off or home visit.
