Microsoft Teams — meetings, audio and screen sharing

Microsoft Teams is standard for meetings in many Swedish companies — but wrong microphone, echoing audio or screen sharing not working costs time every week. Here are the settings and checks we do first on support visits.
Before the meeting starts
Update Teams: Profile → About Teams → check for updates.
Settings → Devices — test microphone, speaker and camera with Teams built-in test.
Close other programs using the camera (Zoom, Skype) if the device is busy.
Audio problems
Choose the right microphone and speaker in the meeting bar — not just system default if you have a headset.
Echoing audio: ask participants to mute speakers if listening in the same room, or use a headset.
If nobody hears you: check the microphone is not muted in Windows (privacy settings for microphone).
Screen sharing and presentation
Share screen or window via the button in the meeting bar — choose the right screen if you have several.
If the button is missing: organisation policy may limit guests. Sign in with work account.
For PowerPoint: use Present in PowerPoint mode in Teams for smoother transitions.
