RAM affects how many programs you can keep open beside the game — and reduces stutter when loading worlds. In 2026, 16 GB is minimum for modern titles; 32 GB is recommended if you stream or run Discord + Chrome with many tabs.
8, 16 and 32 GB
8 GB: only lighter games and older titles — not recommended for new AAA 2026.
16 GB: sweet spot for most gamers without heavy streaming.
32 GB: modded games, streaming, Chrome + Discord + game at once.
Dual channel matters
Two memory modules (2×8 GB or 2×16 GB) give better bandwidth than one module.
